Lolita Lempicka is a French fashion designer who is very well known noted for her suit designs. Lolita Lempicka is a French fashion designer who markets her designs with the brand name Lolita Bis. In 1985 she opened an atelier in the Le Marais section of Paris, France. Azzedine Alaia also opened a boutique in the neighborhood on the Rive Droite of the Seine River.
Lolita / Josiane was born in Bordeaux in 1954. She first learned how to sew from her mother, a trouser-maker who worked from home.
Although her designs are often inspired by the 1940s, they always strike a playful balance between the modern and the nostalgic. She became famous for her exquisitely tailored suits, infusing classical Parisian styles with fresh femininity.
Lempicka added lace to small pink or green slip dresses, which she covered with peppy short trench coats. On a grey flannel suit she added appliqued flower details. Her fashions showed a preference for a bare back look crossed by straps with bare midriffs on occasion.
Lolita has won several awards for « Parfums Lolita Lempicka » including Best Women’s Fragrance awarded jointly by the Fragrance Foundation and the American FIFI award in 1998.
